BUSINESS WIRE --Today marks just under six months until the completed transition to digital television broadcasting in the United States. The following comment can be attributed to Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®:

CEA’s market research shows widespread consumer understanding of the transition and those Americans who need to take action are doing so. Many consumers are applying for coupons and purchasing digital-to-analog converter boxes, and even more Americans will purchase a new digital television (DTV). This year more than 32 million sets will sell in the U.S. – making this a record-breaking year for DTV sales.
