“Georgia continues to be a strong draw for manufacturers such as BRT Extrusions,” said Ken Stewart, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development. “Our skilled workforce, business-friendly environment and strong transportation network mean that manufacturers can produce a quality product at a competitive price to ship to their customers across the globe.”
Niles, Ohio-based BRT Extrusions plans to open Tifton Extrusions in the former Tifton Aluminum building in the Tift County Industrial Park this summer. The company expects to create 61 jobs in the first year and reach an approximate staffing level of 146 within four years.
“We were looking for a space that would suit our needs and help bring value to our customers, and the former Tifton Aluminum building was perfect,” said BRT Extrusions president Roy E. Smith. “We’ve spent quite a bit of time in Tifton and it’s a great place to do business.”
“We’ve been very impressed with BRT Extrusions and we’re glad that we could partner with them to help bring them to Tift County,” said Greg Sowell, chairman of the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce. “These are good jobs and this company is solid and expanding. As always, a lot of local folks worked together to help make this happen and we will benefit from having more jobs and another strong corporate partner in Tift County.”
